Table description 1 – technological researchers in the population

The table illustrates how many technological researchers there were among one million people in five countries from 2003 to 2007.

As can be seen from the table, Turkey, Mexico and Moldova generally had escalating numbers of people working as technical researchers. The figure for Turkey continuously developed from 47 in 2003 to 106 people in 2007. However, Mexican figures fluctuated with an upsurge from 147 in 2003 to 242 two years later and then a fall to 183 in 2007, while the workforce of Moldova dropped by nearly 15 to 89 workers per million people in 2005 before expanding to exceed the starting figure of 114 at the end of the period.

As for Poland, the country with the largest numbers of workers in almost all of the period, it went through a steady decline in these numbers from 285 technical researchers in 2003 to 226 in 2007. Unlike in the other countries, in Togo, with the most modest workforce, more people opted to work as technical researchers to bring the number up from 18 per million in 2003 to 23 per million in 2005; however, many of them also left the position, thus putting the number back to its starting point in 2007.

In general, despite some fluctuations in the number of people working as technical researchers, most countries experienced an expansion or at least a stability in this workforce except for Poland. (235 words)
