Bar graph 1 – visits to art galleries

The graph shows the number of visitors to a variety of art galleries in 2001. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates how many visitors came to art galleries in 6 countries in 2011.

As is shown, the most visits, around 8.8 million, were paid to Louvre museum in 2011. The second most popular destination listed was Metropolitan Museum in the USA with 6 million visitors, followed closely by British Museum in Britain with the number being around 5.8 million.

However, just above 3 million people came to admire arts in National Museum of South Korea. This figure was apparently only around a half of the number for British and American counterparts, and only approximately 1/3 compared to the statistic for Louvre Museum in France. Similarly, Museo del Prado gallery in Spain, and State Hermitage museum in Russia attracted even more modest numbers of patrons (3 million and around 2.9 million respectively).

In general, in 2011, the attractiveness of art galleries and museums in this list can be stratified into two groups: one with high numbers of visits comprising museums of France, America, and Britain, and the other with similar and humble counts of visits in the remaining countries. (181 words)
